A preacher was finishing a temperance sermon, and with passion he concluded, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
Then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in thw world, I'd take it and throw it into the river!"
As the preacher sat sown, the song leader stood ver cautiously and announced with a smie, "In closing, let's all stand and sing the hymn 'Shall We Gather at the River?."
